Reports to: Assistant Superintendent for Leadership, Planning and Evaluation

General Summary: The Director of ÌýProfessional Learning works collaboratively to coordinate and provide continual learning opportunities for all staff and to ensure the teacher evaluation program is monitored, evaluated, and fully implemented.Ìý


Essential Functions:

I.ÌýÌý ÌýDirects and evaluates the certificated staff evaluation program and supports the Human Resource Department with instructional support for Intensive Assistance plans. Ìý(15%)

II.ÌýÌý ÌýSupports all principals, teachers and District-level personnel in the planning, developing and implementing of professional learning activities to ensure that the professional learning of certificated and classified staff are determined to adequately support the С»ÆѼÊÓƵ Education Program, Strategic Plan, federal and state mandates, and job training needs. Ìý( 25%)

III.ÌýÌý ÌýDirects the new certificated staff induction program. Ìý(20%)

IV.ÌýÌý ÌýDirects the Instructional Coaching programs within the district. (18%)Ìý

V.ÌýÌý ÌýSupervises and evaluates the work of principals and other staff as assigned by the Superintendent. (5%)

VI.ÌýÌý ÌýDevelops and administers budgets to support the comprehensive Ìýprofessional learning plan. Ìý(4%)

VII.ÌýÌý ÌýIdentifies needs for credit courses and works with administrators of colleges and universities and E.S.U. to provide college credit courses and programs within the District. Ìý(1%)

VIII.ÌýÌý ÌýServes as a liaison between the District and other local, state and national educational agencies in the development, coordination and implementation of programs for professional learning. Ìý(2%)

IX.ÌýÌý ÌýPerforms such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Assistant Superintendent for Leadership, Planning and Evaluation may assign. Ìý(5%)

X.ÌýÌý ÌýAttends all board of education and Superintendent cabinet meetings. (4%)

XI.ÌýÌý ÌýOther duties as assigned by the Superintendent. (1%)

Qualifications:

I.ÌýÌý ÌýEducation Level:ÌýÌý ÌýA doctoral degree from an approved institution with a major in educational administration or the accepted equivalent is preferred. ÌýA six-year specialist degree in educational administration or the accepted equivalent is required.ÌýÌý Ìý

II.ÌýÌý ÌýCertification or Licensure:ÌýÌý ÌýAppropriate Nebraska Administrative Certification required.


III.ÌýÌý ÌýExperience desired: ÌýFive years of successful administrative experience in the area of instructional improvement, professional learning, and staff evaluation is preferred; three years experience is required. ÌýPrevious supervisory experience is required.

IV.ÌýÌý ÌýOther requirements: ÌýAbility to work with individuals and groups in the development and implementation of a district professional learning and instructional improvement program; ability to compile and prepare reports.
